May 10

Inquiry into Spelling 

This week was a review week for us. Students took their 10 chosen review words and wrote them in a paragraph. Students were given a criteria checklist to remind them.

1. Date written
2. Capitals used
3. Periods used
4. I've read over my paragraph and it makes sense
5. My 10 words are circled
6. Spelling of my words is correct


Inquiry into Math 

Today students were introduced to the 0 and 1 times tables. They learned that when 1 is a factor the product is always the other factor for example 1x2=2 3x1=3 1x4=4 5x1=5. They also learned that when 0 is a factor the product is always 0 for example 0x2=0 3x0=0 0x4=0 5x0=0

Students then completed page 82-83 in their math book.


Students then learned how to use multiplication charts to solve multiplication questions 


Then they played a multiplication game in their book 

Inquiry into Endangered Animals 

Today students continued their Novel study called a Perfect Time for Pandas. Here we are learning about the endangered animal of the Giant Panda. Students read chapter 4 and 5 and answered comprehension question to accompany the chapter's readings. 



Students finished their endangered animal research papers from yesterday

Today students also made a special card for their Mother's ! Happy Mother's Day to you all!
