• Raz Kids 15 minutes - new passwords were sent in the agendas due to an issue
• Spelling sentences - one sentence for every word - due Friday, Spelling test Friday - 5 detailed 5 regular sentences

Music 

Today we spent A LOT of time in dress rehearsal practice for the Christmas concert. The night of the Christmas concert our students are asked to dress in their 'Christmas Best' outfits and to arrive at the classroom for 6:30pm.

Math

We are working on our adding skills by using different strategies such as making 10, finding doubles, or finding near doubles. These are called mental math skills and we will be spending time working on these as they are an essential part of our new math program!

Language

We spent some time making Christmas concert decorations

Unit Of Inquiry 

Students were told they need to organize the shelves of a dresser. They labelled the shelves with what items it would hold and then used flyers to cut and paste the items onto the drawers.

Today students put themselves into snow globes!



Unit Of Inquiry

Students were told they were heading on a trip to Mexico!!!!! But first they needed to organize their suitcase by packing the items they will need. Students came up with a pretty extensive list of things they would need to pack, we have some excellent packers on our hands!

SJA is excited to announce that Year Ahead Day is happening again this year!  All SJA PYP students will be participating in this exciting event on Tuesday, December 5th.   Year Ahead Day is a fun and interactive day for the students at SJA to spend a day in the class of the grade level ahead of them (example: SK students spend their day as Grade 1 students, Grade 6 students spend their day as Grade 7 students, etc.).  This is a great way for the students at SJA to get a glimpse into their future life at SJA!  Students can get to know the teachers, see their future classroom, and take part in activities they will be participating in next year.

We began our new numeracy unit. Students worked on counting and grouping objects and then putting them into addition and subtraction sentences.

Students were told they need to organize the shelves of a fridge. They had to decide what each shelf would hold 

ex. fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy 

They then used flyers to cut out pictures and place items on their shelves. 

Organization Presentations 

Day 60

Homework Task 
Students are asked to find an area in their home that they feel needs to be organized. They are asked to organize that area and write a few sentences explaining
1. why they felt it needed to be organized 
2. how they organized it 
3. how they think it will be more functional now 

A picture of them completing the task would be a nice accompaniment. You can email it to me if you do not have a printer to print it off. 

Students will present their task to the class on Monday.
