Day 46

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! That’s right parents. Our annual Holiday Fundraiser is back and running until November 18. Order forms have been sent home. This is a wonderful opportunity to begin shopping for the holiday season, which is fast approaching. Money raised will be going towards technology items, which we desperately need!! Ask your family, neighbours, and co-workers to support this fantastic fundraiser... we have cookies, treats, and gift cards! We did extremely well last year so lets see if we can do even better! Thank you so much in advance for your support!

`Math -
students were given a blank pizza template. They had to pick items they would put on their pizza. Each item had a cost given. Students had to add up the cost of the pizza and write how much it would cost.

UOI - Students picked their dinosaur for their summative assessment listed below:

In the agendas tonight is a dinosaur summative assessment package. Students have been assigned a dinosaur and are asked to fill in the dinosaur report  sheet about it. A website is provided in the below description. The report page is due on Thursday and we will conference on Friday. Over the weekend students will be required to take the information about their dinosaur and put it into a visual presentation for the class. Students could create a book with words and pictures about their dinosaur, they could create a bristol board with pictures and words, or a video recording using pictures and talking. Parents please keep in mind we would like this project to be student created and completed, we understand that parental assistance is needed (helping to research, cut and paste, video etc.) but please do not do parts for them.

Unit 2 Summative Expectations- Dinosaur Presentations
Students are required to find information about their assigned dinosaur. They will be using the dinosaur report sheet to help determine what they will need to know. Here is a site that has every dinosaur assigned and has 10 facts about each dinosaur.
Students will have from November 15th to 17th to find out as much information at home as possible about their dinosaur. Please keep in mind you do not have to fill in the entire dinosaur report sheet. Students will use their dinosaur report sheet as a guide to help them create either a bulletin board, recording, power point or a book, to present to the class.
Students will bring all the information they found at home on November, 18th to conference with their teacher. Students will then have the weekend to make a bristol board, recording, power point or book with pictures. They are encouraged to memorize some of this information for when they present to the class.
Students will be given Monday, November. 21st to practice their presentations and presentations will begin to take place the following days.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me anytime.
Best Regards,

Mr. Foster and Mrs. Smith

    Should ever be forgot.

    Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes
'Twas his intent to blow up the king and the parliament
Three score barrels of powder below.
    Poor old England to overthrow.
By God's providence he was catch'd
with a dark lantern and burning match
Holloa boys, Holloa boys let the bells ring
Holloa boys, Holloa boys, God save the king!
