Today students learned how to do a cursive c. Cursive C is the foundation for many cursive letters. From there we also learned how to do a A and a D.
Music
Check out Mr. Oliver's blog: http://mrolivermusicclass.blogspot.ca. I heard some wild and crazy music making from the students today!!!!!!!!

Math: today students discussed our math unit on patterning. We reviewed what a pattern is, what makes up a pattern, and gave some examples. Students then reviewed the 5 attributes for patterning and sorting.
1. Colour
2. Shape
3. Size
4. Direction
5. Numbers/letters

In our math books we completed a page on creating patterns using 2 attributes. We had to discuss how our patterns were similar and different.

Inquiry into Language

Today we completed our spelling workbooks for our words of the week. I understand that these words may seem easy or be a repeat from SK but our grade one expectations are different in regards to spelling words. Students not only must know how to spell them but know their meaning and how to use them in a sentence. So while easier to memorize it is hard for them to use.

We continued to talk about our new unit of inquiry: relationships, rules, and responsibilities. We reviewed as a class about what each one of those words meant. We then looked over our school rules list and picked one to create a poster about. These posters will be displayed for the school to see!

We ended our day by have gym class with Ms. Jans, you can check out her blog at https://janspe1.blogspot.ca/
