It's Beginning to Look
a Lot Like Christmas
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas

UOI/Science Fair -
Students filled in prediction sheets about what will happen to a candy cane in cold water, vinegar, and hot water.  We then completed our experiment, unfortunately our hypothesis was wrong! The vinegar although it contained acid did not melt the candy cane the quickest, the hot water did.  We discussed how it is okay to be wrong! The point of doing a science experiment is to try and answer a question we have. We discussed how we were risk takers by picking a choice and how we become more knowledgeable thanks to our experiment.

We then completed the procedure part of our experiment for the display board:

UOI - Students were told they were going to be paleontologists today! They had to excavate fossils (chocolate chips) from the earth (cookies). Students then had to record their fossil findings on a ten frame, in tallies, number words and pictures. Take a look:

Science Fair
Today we began a discussion about our science fair project. We are going to be melting candy canes!! We talked about ways we could melt candy canes we had some good imaginative guesses! Then we learned that we will be trying to melt candy canes using cold water, hot water, and vinegar. We then discussed how we could measure our candy canes after they melted to see which one melted the best. After some more imaginative answers we decided on a ruler using centimetres!

We then all made a prediction of which liquid would melt the candy cane the most. Our class top vote was vinegar. From here we made a hypothesis that Vinegar will be the best liquidate melt the candy canes. We then made a list of materials we will need to complete our experiment.

Tomorrow we will continue with our experiment.
