Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope the weather clears up so everyone can make it out for some fun and treats tonight!

Day 39

Inquiry into Language

Today students completed their OWA using the feedback they were given feedback from myself on their writing. I reminded them of our letter writing check list and recount writing check list. I reminded them of our brainstorm from yesterday and what we wrote I also read them a level 4 example.

Inquiry into Immigration

Today we reviewed push and pull factors - what they mean. Then we talked about specific categories of them: economical, political, social and environmental. We then read some scenarios and tried to determine if
1. it was push or pull
2. it was economical or political or social or environmental

Gym


Math

Students worked in partners to conduct probability experiments with flipping coins and pulingl a labelled card from a bag. We also worked on predicting/estimating.

Day 38

Inquiry into Language
Today students completed a practice run of their OWA and were given feedback from myself on their writing.

Students were told they needed to write a letter to a sick friend recounting what they had missed at school. We brainstormed 5 things we had been learning and then put them in order of our day. Together we came up with an introduction sentence and brainstormed our I think/feel sentence.


tomorrow students will be expected to do the exact same thing on their own.

Inquiry into Immigration: Today we reviewed past and present modes of transportation


Library 
We got a chance to visit Ms. Hayward in the library and sign out some books to read for our reading logs!


Gym

Math

Students continued to learn probability words, as well as their definitions. They were given scenarios and had to sort them into the categories Certain, Likely, unlikely and impossible. 



















Then we completed worksheets to help reinforce our learning
