Math:
We have begun our new unit on time, temperature and money. We began by learning what a minute is. We learned a minute is 60 seconds. We then counted out a minute. Next we brainstormed activities that might take a minute. Then we played two games.
The first was that the students had to see how many times they could write their name in a minute. Next students had to see how many times they could draw a house in a minute.
Lastly students picked an activity and when I set the timer they had to preform that activity and then tell me if their activity took less than a minute, about a minute or more than a minute. Some students picked drawing a pumpkin or 100 jumping jacks.

Inquiry into Language
Today I asked students to help me turn boring sentences into fun and interesting ones to read. We did a few as a class and then we all worked on doing one on our own. Students we also asked to label when there was a noun, adjective or verb in the sentence.
