Dear Parents/Guardians
On Monday, January 16, and
Tuesday, January 17, St. Jude’s Academy will be receiving a visit from
representatives of the International Baccalaureate programme. For these days,
the Grade One classes have decided to open a market place to complement our
Organization unit. Students will be responsible for one of the four categories
1.
Fruits
2.
Vegetables
3.
Drinks
4.
Snacks.
For their January 11th
agenda note students brought home a list of items they can bring in from the
category they chose. We ask that you please purchase and send at least one of
the items in on Monday January 16th. On this day, we will be
sorting our items and creating signs for our grocery store. We will open our
store to the school on Tuesday January 17th.
During this time, will be reviewing their
sorting, addition and subtraction, and coin skills from Math, Organization
skills and various learner profiles.
We appreciate your help in this matter.
All the best,
Mr. Foster and Mrs. Smith
Students picked their category today and made a shopping list to take with them to the grocery store. We ask that each student please purchase/bring in one item on their list on Monday Jan. 16th. Shopping lists were sent home in the agenda. While shopping at the grocery store please have your child look at the set up of the area their item is located in.
If students have things they think they would like to bring in for our market place ( apron to wear, name tag, cash register, basket) they may also do so.
Thanks so much for your help!
No Spelling test or sentences this week due to short week. Reading homework will be sent home on Friday.
Please send in International Day write ups/pictures and items as soon as you can. We are looking for a collection of items to display as well for India.
Parents I am also asking if you are able to send in Food for the event, if this is possible please contact me directly.
International Day is Friday students are able to come in traditional dress for India or wear the colours of the flag. Parents please join us as there will be lots of tasty food and interesting displays!
