Inquiry into Language 

In continuation with our OWA unit we are beginning to learn about persuasive advertisements. Today students were given a picture of a toy. They were asked to brainstorm the following

1. The name of the toy
2. How much the toy cost
3. Where you can buy the toy
4. A persuasive statement to get your audience to buy it
5. Something people would love to do with it.

Once we were done our brainstorm we had to create a persuasive advertisement with the toy, our example is on the right hand side of the board above.

 

Inquiry into Time, Temperature and Money

Today students continued to learn about elapsed time in five minute intervals

Inquiry into Structures
Today students were put into groups of 2-3 and given a picture of a famous structure from around the world. They were also given information write ups about their structure and a research page. Together in their groups they worked to read the information, search for the answers and teach each other about the famous structure.
