Today students learned about money through skip counting. We made charts to help us
We then looked at how many nickels, quarters, and dimes equalled to one toonie or one loonie, how many 5 dollar bills would equal $50, how many toonies would equal $20 and how many $20 bills you would get for $100
Students then moved on to trickier topics such as how many coins or bills would equal a certain amount and how to represent this .

Inquiry into Structures
Students worked into in groups of 2-3 to brainstorm a plan of a structure they want to create out of natural materials. Students picked a structure, wrote its purpose, drew a diagram, listed the materials they would need and finally wrote the steps needed to carry out their design.
