Day 44

Inquiry into Language

Today students learned how to write an explanation

We also made a list of sentence starters so we had a variety to choose from:

We then read the book:

As a class we brainstormed how to make soup:
We then discussed the template of a paragraph and how it is continuous:
Then we wrote an EXPLANATION paragraph of how to make soup in our journals:

Science Fair 

We continued our science fair class project! We discussed yesterday and made some adjustments based on the feedback from students who thought that the skittles weren't all in the liquid for the same amount of time might alter our results! It was great to hear that they were able to think of this to improve our project. We made the adjustment to our procedure by adding the liquid first instead of the skittles as they previously wanted yesterday. We then completed the experiment again. Today water was still the best liquid!
