Novel study
Students took turns reading the last chapter out loud
We answered the questions in our novel study packages. Students were reminded to use part of the question in their answer. We worked together to create the responses.
When finished we looked at events from the story and put them in sequential order of how they occurred.
Inquiry into Simple Machines
Today students finished creating their vehicles in their table groups.
we reviewed safety in regards to using scissors and glue guns. We talked about how to safely puncture holes using scissors. We also talked about how/where to hold a hot glue gun. How to squeeze the glue gun and how to press items together using popsicle sticks and not our fingers when using the hot glue gun.
Inquiry into Math
Today students learned how to recognize the changing attributes of a pattern
- shape
- size
- colour
- direction/position
- number/letter
We talked about how the pattern core - is the part of the pattern that repeats over and over again
We then worked on identifying these attributes in patterns and completing/extending these attributes in patterns.
