March 5th

House Game









Inquiry into Language
Today students began to learn about persuasive advertisements. We started with learning how to make a for sale poster!

Students were told to think of an item to sell. For the topic/title we would put an adjective in front of the item and then the words for sale. We brainstormed a list of adjectives.



Then students were told to plan out
1. the price
2. the contact name and phone number (made up)
3. a description of the item that makes it sound interesting





Inquiry into Simple Machines 
Students completed building their Leprechaun traps. 
As a class we reviewed safety in regard to using scissors and glue guns. We talked about how to safely puncture holes using scissors. How/where to hold a hot glue gun. How to squeeze the glue gun and how to press items together using popsicle sticks and not our fingers when using the hot glue gun.

Tomorrow students will present the form (how it looks) and function (how it works) of their trap.


Gym

Inquiry into Math 

Today students began learning about temperature. Due to the house game some of us did not get to finish. Please complete page   question 2 for homework tonight.






Agenda 

  • Forms have been sent home regarding SJA’s awesome Adventure Camp. The wonderful camp will run from Monday to Friday both weeks of the March Break (March 9-13 & March 16-20) and is offered to student from JK to Grade 6. Field trips will take place on Thursday afternoons. Meal plans are also included if you chose to do so. Cash or QuickBooks payments only please. Don’t delay; register today!
