UOI with Language focus -
Today we completed our Ontario Writing Assessment.  We completed the pre-assessment to show me where students are with their knowledge on writing and list making. Students are required to make a list of recess rules for the OWA post assessment which will take place in October.

Math -
Today we learned about attributes. We learned that there are four attributes to make a pattern. You can use colour, Shapes, sizes and directions. Students then learned how to recognize a pattern core. Lastly we reviewed making AB, AAB, ABB, ABC patterns:

UOI -
To finish our learning on rules we played a game that involved you following the rules. Students started with one rule and who ever didn't follow that rule during the game was out. If they got out then they had to add a rule to our list and so forth until we had many rules and only a few kids left.

Agenda -

  • Cursive homework pages 14-15
  • please sign and return page 30 of student hand book.
  • Welcome BBQ tomorrow
  • Spelling sentences due Thursday
Spelling Word Sentences

There seems to be a bit of confusion, I apologize that my expectation was not clear. Just to clarify the spelling words should be in a complete sentence for example: the word bath

1) I took a bath last night before bed

Gym - visit: http://mrhpypphysed.blogspot.ca

Reflection using Math Journal -
In our reflection journals we made a graph to track what the weather is like, we discussed how graphs start at the bottom box and we keep adding data to it.
We coloured the number of days we have been at school so far in our 100 chart
We learned what a ten frame was and how to record in it (each square gets only one dot) and we added a dot to 6 squares to count our 100 days.
When then worked on the number 6. Representing it using pictures, tallies, base ten blocks and deciding on whether it was an even or odd number.
