Day 8

Daily Five - 
Today we completed our second round of daily five. Our centres to complete were
1. word work - using our spelling words in different ways
2. work on writing - writing journals or sticker stories
3. read to self - silent read and practise our skills
4. read to someone - elbow to elbow, knee to knee I'll read to you, you read to me. Book in the middle so we can both see.
5. Listen to reading - today students took turns reading to small groups

UOI with Language focus - 
Today we used our language time to complete our first ever spelling test. Students did fairly well and were excited to complete it. They also were excited/shocked when I surprised them with a bonus word!

Math - 
Today we reviewed what an attribute was and what a pattern core was. Students then were given the challenge to create a pattern using two attributes and then circle the pattern core.

Afterwards students used pattern blocks to review their knowledge

UOI -
Today students were asked to write a small journal stating their classroom responsibility.

Reflection using language focus 
Students discussed what a caring learner is and then each thought of one word to write on our poster to display in the classroom. 

We finished our work quickly today and had time for another dance party
