Today students reviewed the parts of a letter.
They then completed a quick cut and paste activity of the parts of a letter and envelope.
Next students wrote a letter to a friend telling about their upcoming Halloween plans, they used our recount organizer to help them organize their thoughts.

Today students reviewed bar graphs and then constructed their own using given data. We went over the proper steps to ensure we have a complete bar graph.

Students discussed in groups and as a class reasons why people choose to leave their country
Some suggestions were
- war
-to make things better
-their parents say so
-they are forced to leave
Students commented on how no one wanted to help the child and how because he was different they treated him badly. They also talked about how he left with no money or food and it wasn't his choice to do so.
Students then discussed the reasons why they thought their family and/or friends might have come to Canada.
We then got into three groups land, air and sea and brainstormed modes of transportation that people could have migrated on. We then presented them to the class.
