Today students watched a video on the evolution of transportation.

Students discussed how ships went from being rowed by us, to sails (the junk) powered by fire burning coal to motors/engines. Students speculated that in years to come there could be self driving boats.
We discussed how cars went from animal and human pulled carts, carriages, to uncovered/open cars that moved slowly to cars running on gas to electric powered cars . . . kids even went further to state that there are self driving cars and flying car prototypes.
We discussed how trains went from simple pulley setups to steam powered engines (uncovered) with a conductor who wasn't inside the train to electric trains. Students even speculated that their might be trains that could go under water like a submarine in years to come.
We then took some time to clean and tidy up our classroom.
