Today we began our second novel study
We looked at the front cover, we read the blurb on the back, and we read the chapter titles. We then used this information to make a prediction about the story:
Next we read the first chapter of the novel and answered the comprehension questions
Inquiry into Addition and Subtraction
Today students worked on 3 digit addition using the strategy of base ten blocks.
Step 1 = make your first number
Step 2 = make your second number
Step 3 = add the columns (hundreds, tens, ones) up. Keep in mind 10 ones = a trade for a tens rod, 10 tens = a trade for a 100 block.
