Day 79

Inquiry into Language Arts 

Today we brainstormed what we know 'Risk Taker' means. We then read a story:

After we read we added to our brainstorm. We then completed a worksheet describing what we think being a risk taker means and how we can be one/have been one.


Inquiry into Addition and Subtraction

Today students worked on addition and subtraction using front end estimation by rounding to the nearest 100.

Step 1 = round your first number
Step 2 =round your second number
Step 3 = add or subtract

*reminder 50 or higher round up, 49 or less stays the same





Agenda 
- work on speeches 
- spelling test Friday 
- bring cultural artifact - check agenda/bloomz for details 
- return library books 
- Grade 1 grocery store on Thursday January 24th, all money raised will go towards Sick Kids Hospital
- Spelling paragraph due Friday using 8 words
- field trip form
- RE-REGISTRATION packages due soon hand in ASAP to secure your spot in Grade 3!


Gym

Inquiry into Cultures 

Today we watched a short video to learn different sketching techniques of hatching, cross hatching, circulism, and contour lines. We also learned about light and dark and spaced out and dense.

We then sketched the outline of our artifact and tomorrow we will add in these techniques.
