Inquiry into Language Arts
Today we did a speeches check in. I went through each student's chosen book and their summary. Feedback is stapled into each child's agenda.
Some things to work on
- length of speech . . . remember 3-5 minutes, maybe you need to add opinions, facts, quotes, etc.
- stating title and author
- beginning to memorize
Inquiry into Addition and Subtraction
Today students worked on 3 digit addition using the strategy of base ten blocks. We worked on 4 questions in our math workbook together as a class. We followed steps to complete the questions.
Step 1 = make your first number
Step 2 = make your second number
Step 3 = add the columns (hundreds, tens, ones) up. Keep in mind 10 ones = a trade for a tens rod, 10 tens = a trade for a 100 block.
