Inquiry into Language
Students reviewed what an adjective is. We started by describing an apple.
We then moved on to describing an ice cream cone on our own. Students were told to think of words that could describe the way it looks, feels, tastes, smells and its shape.
Here is what we came up with
Inquiry into Citizenship
Students were told that today they would have to make an important decision that would have an impact on the whole school. They were told that Mr. Sawatsky is the boss and he has made a decision to cancel the teaching of math at our school. We as the citizens of his community will need to vote on if we agree with his decision or if we think he should keep math.
First we decided if we were for or against it. Then we discussed with a partner at our table
Next we discussed our ideas with the whole table
Lastly we complied a list of our ideas for yes or no
Tomorrow we will continue our discussion
Reading Reflection
Students were each given a disc for their job while listening to a read aloud story. Here are some of the discs.
Then we read aloud
and used the above discs to help re-tell the important bits in the story.
