Inquiry into Language
Today students completed their second OWA (Ontario Writing assessment). This was the pre-assessment to see students' prior knowledge of explanation writing. Students will be required to write an explanation which will include an introduction (brief description and definition) a series of explanatory statements for example how something works and why something happens and lastly a conclusion (summary or comment) a summary and recommendation
Math
Today the students continued their new Geometry unit about transformational geometry. Today we reviewed Slides/Translations. We reviewed horizontal, vertical, and diagonal translations.
We reviewed that for slides shapes do not turn and the way they face does not change. The simply slide around.
We then worked in our math textbooks and wrote the answers in our math journals
