Today students learned about writing an explanation. They learned that an explanation can be written to
Explain how something works
or
Explain how to do something
We went over how an explanation is usually written in paragraph form. We talked about how an explanation needs an Introduction, the middle (explanation itself) and a conclusion which is either a recommendation or a summary.
We then wrote our own explanation of how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Today the students continued their new Geometry unit about transformational geometry. Today we learned turns/rotations . We learned clockwise (right) and counterclockwise (left). We then learned a quarter turn, half turn, and three quarter turn.
We learned that turns have a centre they rotate from.

We continued with our science fair
We wrote a journal about what we predicted was going to happen
Today we found out that we were wrong. One good squirt was all it took to move the germs away. The rest was just wasted soap. Tomorrow we will need to adjust our procedure and our list of materials.
We talked about experimenting was just that making mistakes and adjusting and trying again. We talked about a hypothesis being wrong was also acceptable. We also talked about how if a experiment fails (doesn't work) 3 times we will have to try a whole new experiment.
Students discussed how they felt many said they still had fun and we tried our best and thats all that matters!
